Meet Our Founder

Teacher Weng, also known as Wilma Dela Cruz-Ligot, embarked on a transformative journey fueled by her experience as a mother of two autistic sons. Armed with an AB Psychology degree, she ventured beyond the classroom to advocate for neurodivergent individuals, actively participating in the Autism Society Philippines (since 2008) and ADHD Society of the Philippines (since 2016). She is currently an active member of Families of Individuals with Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, Philippines (FIND Philippines) and Boundless Possibilities Foundation, Inc. (BPFI).

Teacher Weng extended her advocacy to legislative efforts, supporting a bill for neurodivergent rights. Through the Filipino Alliance for Neurodiversity, a group of organization represented by parents, self-advocates, and professionals, she ensured the voices of those with neurodevelopmental challenges be translated into meaningful change.

Out of her dedication, SPEDabiliTeach was born—a living legacy that stands for Special Education, focusing on nurturing abilities through education. This online haven invites you to join a movement where differences are celebrated, and compassion creates ripples of change. In every interaction with SPEDabiliTeach, you become part of a shared narrative of resilience and love, contributing to a brighter, more inclusive tomorrow.

Teacher Weng's academic journey includes earning her AB Psychology degree from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and pursuing master's units in Psychology at UP Diliman's College of Social Science and Philosophy. Recognizing the enduring journey of neurodivergent learners, she deliberately shifted to a master's degree in Special Education at UP Diliman's College of Education.

As a licensed professional teacher specializing in secondary education, Teacher Weng doesn't just educate; she passionately advocates for understanding and supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families. Her commitment creates a bridge between education and empathy, shaping a future where every step echoes the enduring power of compassion and understanding.
